The New Trivia Times
Since hour 12 of the 1984 contest, teams have been asked to answer
questions about pictures. The pictures have turned out to be a very popular,
yet challenging elements of the contest.
The pictures are distributed in a booklet known as The New Trivia Times which is handed out to each team on registration day. Also contained in the booklets are sponsor advertisements, the contest rules, and other information related to the contest. The pictures are distributed to the teams at registration time giving the teams about five days to work on answers prior to the start of the contest. Some pictures may be easy to identify and some are so difficult, that no team gets a correct answer. Throughout the 54-hour contest, teams continue to research answers for the pictures. In a given contest, there are normally 24 picture questions. Here are answers and point values for picture questions by year:
